MONDAY IN BATTERY PARK CITY WITH MOST OF THE BASLOWS
Mrs. Baslow, Rulizow, and Baslow himself went down to Battery Park City today. It was cloudy at first but after awhile there was more sun, at least intermittently. Baslow made a photographic record of the trip, which can be viewed here.

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF THE BASLOWS
The Baslow offspring have been sitting around, coming up with "sayings". No...wait...Rulizow protests that she didn't "sit around coming up with sayings". "I just say them," quoth she. Anyway, here are the first fruits:
Rulizow:
"If I had a pony I'd name it BoB"
"Mazel Tov, it's a bunbbalooloo"
David:
"To strike down one's compassion will inevitably make more logic and direct thinking; but you'd be one hell of a jackass."
"To assimilate to the folds of people's expectations is worse than to assimilate to death."

SATURDAY IN THE PARK WITH BASLOW
Baslow has recovered from his pinched nerve sufficiently to have undertaken, yesterday, a walk through Central Park. He took the subway down to 96th Street and Central Park West, where he entered the park. It was a pretty nice day, mostly sunny, with just occasional cloudiness. Baslow brought his new digital camera (a Fujifilm Finepix 2300) along and took about fifty photos. These have been posted at

WHY DO HISTORY IN THE FORM OF A COMIC BOOK?
Joshua Brown discusses this question in his very interesting review of Ben Katchor's The Jew of New York and Chris Ware's Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth. It appears in Common-Place, The Interactive Journal of Early American Life

THE BASLOW FAMILY ALBUM
Baslow has recovered enough use of his arm to be able, finally, to offer you this small collection of low-quality photographs of his entire family. The photos were taken with a newly-acquired Fujifilm Finepix 2300. Baslow is new to photograpy, let alone digital photography, so allowances should be made. And now...here is the
